The work with the new Funk Unit album is currently put on hold, as I am touring with my Quartet and all of the members of Funk Unit are working their own albums with tours to follow in 2012. I welcome this development as I believe in each and everyone of the players in Funk Unit and their power to move on on their own.Thats the spirit of Funk Unit!
Andy P is out on his own album with his Jideblascos, Magnus Lindgren has scored with Batucada Jazz, Robert Ikiz just released his first album as a leader and composer, Jonas Wall is soon to release his first full lenght album, Sebastian Studnitzky is pushing his Trio as well as launching his own agency on top of producing legendary Islandic Mezzoforte. Magnum Coltrane Price is finishing his first album together with the world class UMO New Music Orchestra from Helsinki for the legendary label Bluenote. So, you see that the guys are pretty busy on their own. Guess if I am proud of them!
Funk Unit is not dead, it just takes a well deserved rest!!!!
